Facebook just showed the world some major plans. CEO Mark Zuckerberg kicked off its F8 developer conference having a new mission focused on community, some clear film references, and tons of dad jokes.

Right after the scattershot intro, Facebook got to the business enterprise – introducing the new tools and platforms for its developer community, which foreshadow where the organization and its range of apps are going. Augmented Reality  Platform
Zuckerberg started with an introduction to Facebook’s augmented reality platform, known as Camera.Camera Effects will be used to construct custom graphics for Facebook Camera. The Effects will mainly be used by artists, designers and developers. Frame Studio and AR Studio are the latest inputs for developers to create masks, animations and more. Zuck demoed many AR experiences, such as quite a few that appear similar to Snapchat’s New Globe lenses, announced hours before his conference.

FB spaces
Facebook revealed the beta of Spaces, the company’s social VR app. Spaces is an app for Oculus exactly where users can interact with each other using their avatars. Customers can also call close friends who are not inside the VR globe via Messenger, interacting with them by means of floating 2D screens.

Messenger Platform
“People choose to utilize Messenger to interact with companies,” stated David Marcus, Head of FB’s Messenger. The developer platform now has more than 100,000 developers creating on it. Messenger bots are receiving a huge overhaul with all the all new Messenger Platform 2.0. The firm is introducing greater discovery on the app. He also expressed a need to turn Messenger into the “yellow pages of messaging.” Messenger updates also involve Spotify and Apple Music integrations. Marcus also announced updates to Games by introducing wealthy gameplay and a Game tab in Messenger.

Workplace adds important enterprise attributes
Facebook’s Slack competitor, Workplace is adding file sharing, legal compliance and video towards the existing suite of tools.

The corporation also announced updates to Facebook Analytics, the Developer Circles pilot platform and updates to its increasingly strongt computer system vision analysis.
